Some things are good but optional. Others are absolutely non-negotiable. This simple distinction determines in part, how much value people place on what you have to offer. It’s how much clients are willing to pay and how much your company is willing to give in return for your work.
It’s also important to decide what parts of your life are optional and non-negotiable. Nice to have and must have. Accomplishing your career and lifestyle goals requires setting must haves and putting in the work to make them happen.
